IEEPA Tariff Refund Recovery

The Supreme Court ruled tariffs illegal. Now it's time to recover what you paid.

Over $166 Billion in IEEPA tariffs were collected from more than 330,000 U.S. importers. CBP has been ordered to issue refunds — but they won’t happen automatically.

Why getting this right matters

Importers who receive their refunds first are the ones who file clean, complete, and properly validated claims.

Tariffsrefunds2026 combines experienced licensed customs brokers with trade specialists who have worked inside CBP systems for decades.

On the surface, filing for your IEEPA refund looks simple. It's not. One mistake can push you to the back of the line — or worse, make your claim unrecoverable if deadlines are missed.

How the IEEPA refund program works

What happened, what it means for you, and why timing is critical.

On February 20, 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the President does not have authority under IEEPA to impose these tariffs. CBP is now building a system (CAPE inside ACE) to process refund claims.

Key Points

01

Refunds are not automatic

You must actively file a CAPE declaration. CBP will not do it for you.

02

Your entry status determines the path

Unliquidated, recently liquidated, and fully liquidated entries each require different handling.

03

ACH banking setup is required

Refunds will be sent electronically. Missing banking information can delay or block payment.

04

Not all tariffs qualify

IEEPA duties are eligible. Section 232, Section 301, and AD/CVD duties are handled separately.
